PNEUMONIA VEST UPDATE FALL 2009
It’s two thumbs up for our knitters and those that crochet!
Photos show a sampling of the seventy-five (75) pneumonia prevention vests and fifty-five (55) caps included in the October bale.
A huge thank you, to all our ladies for a superb job! We extend special thanks also to the friends of St. Andrew’s at the Mississauga Stitchery Guild, the Mississauga knitting Guild, the McCall Centre, New Hamburg and the Brockville ‘Stitch ‘n Chat’ group. The support you have shown to this important mission is greatly appreciated. If you are new to St. Andrew’s and like to knit and/or crochet the WMS Pneumonia Prevention Vest Project is the perfect ministry for you. (easy patterns are available at the church office) These simple to make vests and caps are packed by the WMS Guelph – Wellington area and are shipped twice a year to hospitals in India and Malawi. They are worn by infants and toddlers and help to keep them warm where nights and early mornings can be very cold. Let us continue to use our talents to bless others. Please watch the Beacon or Sunday calendar for further notice of 2010 bale shipping dates.
