We’re at the starting gate of a new year. What will it hold for us? Only God knows. Yet if God knows, why not try to discover his plan for us each day?

We should carry on a daily dialog with God. Following his lead is always interesting and          challenging. And much of the time it’s filled with wonder and joy.

A small boy who prayed to God at the end of a fun, interesting Monday was heard to say: “It’s been a wonderful day, God. What do you have in mind for Tuesday?”

What does God have in mind for us in 2010?   If we keep in touch with him, we will enjoy the trip around the sun.

A Prayer for Us as We Enter the New Year, Our 120^th

 

May  God bless us in the new year.

 Not by shielding us from all  sorrows and pain,

 But by strengthening us to bear it, as it  comes;

 Not by making our path easy,

But by making us sturdy and able to travel together, any path God sets before us;

 Not by taking hardships from us,

 But by taking fear from our hearts;

 Not by  granting us unbroken sunshine,

 But by keeping our faces  bright, even in the shadows;

 Not by making our life always  pleasant,

 But by showing us when people and their causes need us most,

 and by making us anxious to be there to  help.

 God’s  love, peace, hope and joy to us in this exciting new year ahead.

One in feeling

this was meant to be

Our lives will be complete

The new journey we now take

With God’s promise

Held in our hands

Feeding our joy

Looking to the future,

Settled in the frame

A new vision of life!
