Get the most from the coming 120th anniversary year
To get the most out of the coming year, we must put the most into it; and we put the most into it by living in a spirit of earnestness, not trifling with the golden hours, but receiving each as a precious gift from God. Only such earnest purpose makes the day a blessing, ensures progress from good to better, and causes us to live in eternity while we are in time.
James Freeman Clarke
120 years of serving the Port Credit area is worth noting. As Dr. Human pointed out in his Christmas letter, our church continues developing into the church with a huge Christian heart, reaching out to the community with love and generosity. |

In this our 120th year, we extend to all our congregation a challenge…and the challenge is this.
Can you add 120 minutes of TIME to support the church activities? What can you do? Here are a few suggestions: · Sponsor a coffee hour, · Visit one shut-in · Be a secret pal to one of our shut in’s. (That means sending a card every month and special ones on that person’s special days signing it your Secret Pal and then on our 120th Anniversary announcing to your shut in your name.) Louise McCue can help you there.
Can you use your TALENT to support the church? |
|
What can I do? Well with a good idea and some “ JUST GET UP & DO IT” attitude · Chandra Kelly raised over $600.00 and the auditorium got 2 beautiful banners. · June Tawton, makes and sells soda bread at coffee hour. · Bill and Peggy Cunningham make Easter Eggs. · You could share your pictures of church events to the Beacon and the web site.
If you have no time nor talent, then you must be a workaholic. Can you share a little of your TREASURE? “How little is a little” you ask? · What would you say to the “This coffee is for Jesus” (Continued on page 5) |
