HYMN OF REFLECTION

Motherhood, sublime, eternal, lives in God’s great heart of Love;

Ever holds us, safe enfolds us, underneath, around, above;

Patient, tender, kind, forgiving, though in devious paths we roam;

Gently chides us, ever guides us, and all-loving, leads us home.

Ev’ry wrong will sure be righted; ev’ry evil swept away;

Truth upspringing, justice bringing, ushers in the brighter day;

Mother calls her earthly children, loves them, lifts them when they fall;

Striving, calling, fainting, falling, Motherlove enfolds them all.

God is love, and love forever in the motherheart is blest;

Lives the longest, lifts the strongest, far outreaching all the rest;

Not by might, and not by wisdom comes our lifting from the sod:

Love’s pure glory tells the story in the Motherheart of God.

YARD CLEAN UP

On Saturday, May 6th,  I was bitterly disappointed that nobody responded to my appeal for volunteers to enjoy a free breakfast and participate in the yard clean–up.

On Sunday I was happy to learn that I was wrong.  A lady who attends church regularly responded to my call and worked on her own in the cold and wet.

You know who you are.  THANK YOU.  You are an example to the entire congregation.

MINISTRY OF MUSIC:  It Fell Upon A Summer Day

It fell upon a summer day,

When Jesus walked in Galilee,

The mother's from a village brought,

Their children to his knee.

He took them in His arms, and laid His hands on each remembered head;

"Suffer these little one's to come to me", He gently said.

"Forbid them not; unless ye bear The child-like heart your hearts within,

Unto My Kingdom ye may come,

But may not enter in."

O Father, grant this child-like heart,

That I may come to Christ, and feel His hands on me in blessing laid,

Love giving, strong to heal.

It fell upon a summer day,

When Jesus walked in Galilee,

The mother's from a village brought,

Their children to his knee.
