MINISTER:  “It is good to give thanks to the Lord,

PEOPLE:  “To sing praises to your name, O Most High.

MINISTER:  “To declare your steadfast love in the morning,

PEOPLE:  “And your faithfulness by night,

MINISTER:  “To the music of the lute and the harp,

PEOPLE:  “To the melody of the lyre.

MINISTER:  “For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;

MINISTER:  Almighty God, who has set forth the Good News in Jesus Christ and put into our hearts

MINISTER:  For our forebears in the faith who set the world to singing and who gave the people of                           

     our church a sacred heritage of song,

PEOPLE:  We praise your holy name.

MINISTER:  For the joy you have kindled in the hearts of your children, expressing itself in song

     and calling us to faith in your Son,

PEOPLE:  We bless your name, O Lord.

MINISTER:  For this new hymnal and all whose dedicated efforts have made it possible,

PEOPLE:  We give you thanks, O Lord.

MINISTER:  O God, whose purpose is the redemption of your world, use this gift to high and holy

     purposes that it may enable those who seek to worship you in spirit and in truth to express

     gratitude, penitence, and commitment,

PEOPLE:  We humbly beseech you, O Lord.

MINISTER:  May it cause a new song to rise from the hearts of those who dwell in cities, in the

     farmland, and the mountains, from near and far around the earth,

PEOPLE:  We humbly beseech you, O Lord.

MINISTER:  May this hymnal provide marching music for your church,

PEOPLE:  And may our lives be dedicated so that your kingdom may come and your will be done on

     earth as it is in heaven.

PRAYER OF DEDICATION:  Grant, O Lord, that the harmony from these songs of praise may

     enter our lives and help us more fully be dedicated to your name.  May we be more sensitive to

     the warmth they hold, the courage they possess, and the truth they tell.  Amen.

THE FLOWERS IN THE SANCTUARY TODAY are to the Glory of God and in celebration of Canada’s very special 150th Birthday.  How blessed we are to live in this great country – Canada.  It is a country of great wonders and amazements.  Its commitment to diversity and respect extends to all nations, race, cultures and religions.  We have so much to be grateful for, and proud of, at this time in our history.  Happy Birthday Canada!

I love being a proud Canadian!   We are friendly and willing to help anyone in need. The landscapes are breathtaking and you don't have to travel far to find the beauty our country is made of and the opportunity to enjoy it with everyone.  I love my country and wouldn't live anywhere else!!!
