If you are putting crayons in your shoe box, please put them first in a plastic sandwich bag, preferably zip lock, then into the shoebox.  That way if they melt before reaching the child, the bag can be removed with no damage to the other items in the box.

Last week an additional 20 boxes were taken and 2 full boxes were returned.  Only 40 boxes left to meet our goal of 100 boxes.

*IMPORTANT NOTE:- If your grandchildren or any child you know are participating or helping you fill your shoebox, please let me know kcb@eol.ca and I will see your child gets a certificate for participation in Operation Shoebox.  Thanks to all who have chosen to be a part of this Christmas project

Footprints of Christmas returns for a 20th year on December 7th, 8th and 9th. Each year, close to 1,000 people take part in the tour over the three evenings. The people attending are impressed as the tour tells the story of Christmas. People are placed into a "Family" and a "Leader" takes them around the outside of the Church. We have a dozen dramatizations set up where members of our church have memorized lines from a well-researched script. Please consider participating this year, either learning lines from the script or taking on a support role. Sign up sheets are downstairs in the auditorium. Please contact Peter Toller with any questions at 905-273-6791 or toller@sympatico.ca.

CHRISTIANS – By Maya Angelou

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I’m not shouting “I’m clean livin’.”

I’m whispering “I was lost,

now I’m found and forgiven.”

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I don’t speak of this with pride.

I’m confessing that I stumble

and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I’m not trying to be strong.

I’m professing that I’m weak

and need His strength to carry on.

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I’m not bragging of success.

I’m admitting I have failed

and need God to clean my mess.

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I’m not claiming to be perfect.

My flaws are far too visible

but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I still feel the sting of pain.

I have my share of heartaches

so I call upon His name.

When I say … “I am a Christian”

I’m not holier than thou.

I’m just a simple sinner

who received God’s good grace, somehow!
